We, the undersigned members of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Iraqi Opposition (NCIO), hereby issue this public declaration to affirm our unwavering commitment to the defense of Iraq — not through violence, but through peace, justice, and civic responsibility.
We believe that:
- Iraq belongs to all its people — Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Yazidis, Christians, Shabaks, Mandaeans, and Kaka’i.
- The Constitution must be upheld, not manipulated.
- Corruption is a crime against the nation.
- Women and youth must be empowered, not silenced.
- The diaspora has a vital role in rebuilding Iraq’s future.
We reject:
- Sectarianism and hate speech
- Militia rule and foreign interference
- The assassination of activists and journalists
- The marginalization of minorities
We affirm:
- Our right to peaceful advocacy
- Our duty to educate and organize
- Our love for Iraq and its people
This is our patriotic duty.
We are not enemies of Iraq — we are its defenders.

We, the undersigned members of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Iraqi Opposition (NCIO), affirm our unwavering commitment to a free, civil, and democratic Iraq — where power comes from the people, not from militias, sects, or foreign embassies.
We declare that:
- Iraq belongs to all its people, regardless of sect, ethnicity, gender, or belief.
- The Iraqi Constitution must be upheld — especially Article 14 (equality), Article 29 (education), and Article 118 (independent judiciary).
- Corruption is a crime against the nation — and those who steal public funds must be held accountable.
- Women and youth must be empowered, not silenced or excluded.
- Displaced persons have the right to return with dignity, justice, and support.
- Free speech must be protected — no more assassinations of activists or journalists.
We reject:
- Sectarianism and hate speech
- Militia rule and armed interference in politics
- Foreign domination of Iraq’s sovereignty
- The marginalization of minorities
We affirm:
- Our right to peaceful, lawful advocacy
- Our duty to educate and organize
- Our love for Iraq and its people
This is not opposition for opposition’s sake — it is patriotism with principles.
