Formal Petition for Social Justice in Iraq
We, the undersigned members of the Iraqi-Canadian community and supporters of democratic reform, demand urgent action to establish social justice in Iraq, where:
- All citizens are equal under the law.
- No one is above accountability.
- Women, youth, minorities, and displaced persons are protected.
For too long, Iraq has been ruled by corruption, sectarianism, and violence — not justice.
We call for:
- Independent courts free from political and militia interference.
- An end to corruption and recovery of stolen public funds.
- Legal protection for women and children, including a ban on child marriage.
- Reparations and safe return for 1.2 million displaced Iraqis.
- Equal rights for all ethnic and religious communities.
We are not enemies of Iraq. We are its defenders.
We love our homeland and demand a future of dignity, not despair.
